About the meeting
The Meeting on Applied Algebraic Geometry (MAAG) is a regional gathering that attracts participants primarily from the Southeastern United States. MAAG 2027 will be held at the Georgia Tech School of Mathematics in Atlanta from Friday, April 23 through Sunday, April 25, 2027.
The meeting brings together researchers who use algebraic geometry as a tool — in optimization, statistics, numerical computation, combinatorics, cryptography, biology, and beyond — along with graduate students and postdocs entering the field. Talks are aimed at a broad audience.
What to expect
- Invited talks by researchers across applied algebraic geometry. See Talks.
- A Macaulay2 mini-workshop with hands-on sessions, opening the meeting on Friday afternoon.
- A poster session on Saturday afternoon, preceded by a poster blitz. Graduate students and postdocs are especially encouraged to present.
Registration and travel support
Registration is free, but we ask everyone to register so we can plan meals and space. NSF travel support is available, with priority given to graduate students, postdocs, and early-career researchers without other funding.
